Checkout legal readiness

DEV-visible legal gate for public self-serve checkout and live billing approval.

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Legal review required before PROD

Draft for DEV validation only. This is not legal advice. Requires review and acceptance by a qualified lawyer before any PROD publication, checkout, onboarding, sales proposal, App Store submission or customer contract use.

Checkout status

DEV can show the paid-plan path and safe test billing surfaces, but this page does not approve or activate PROD/live charging.

Before PROD checkout, Max AI still needs final plan names, prices, tax/VAT setup, B2B/B2C scope, Stripe live configuration, invoice details, credit rules and lawyer-approved policy text.

Required checkout links

Live checkout should link to Terms, Privacy Policy, Cookie Notice, Refund and Cancellation Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, AI Disclaimer, DPA/GDPR summary and Payments/Credits policy.

A customer should see these links before payment and inside account/support surfaces after purchase.

Required checkout facts

Checkout should show plan name, price, currency, billing period, renewal rules, trial status, cancellation route, refund route, included seats, usage allowance, AI-credit allowance, overage position, taxes, invoice route and support contact.

Checkout should record acceptance of the final Terms, Privacy Policy, AI Disclaimer, Refund/Cancellation policy and Payments/Credits policy before payment.

Live billing decisions still missing

VAT/tax handling, B2B-only versus B2B/B2C sales, invoice requirements, refund windows, trial model, cancellation behavior, AI credit limits and overage consent are not yet approved for PROD.

Any mismatch between checkout copy, Stripe configuration, invoices, customer portal behavior and legal documents blocks live billing.

Protective default

Do not launch production checkout with automatic overage billing, consumer sales, international VAT assumptions or marketing cookies until those items are explicitly approved.

If any required policy is still a draft, checkout should stay in DEV/test mode.
